Making money online? Hahaha…
-
Does this sound familiar?
-
You really want to make money online.
-
In fact, you’ve been trying for months – maybe even years.
-
You’ve been working hard at it too.
-
You’ve got all the know-how. You know all the tricks about affiliate marketing. SEO. PPC. Copywriting. Traffic…
-
You’ve got all the ebooks. Watched the videos. Own programs from the big name marketers. And have more social media profiles than you can remember.
Your hard drive is overflowing with so much cutting-edge information you could almost be considered an internet marketing expert yourself.
-
But when it comes to making money online…
-
Somehow it hasn’t quite happened.
-
At least, not to the level of comfort you were expecting.
-
-
Welcome to the club!
-
It is unfortunately a very frequent situation on the internet marketing scene.
There are many reasons for this…
-
But I believe they all revolve around a single key point.
-
A simple question.
-
And if you really want to achieve financial freedom online, you must answer it – honestly – for yourself:
-
Do you want a business or do you want a website?
-
-
It personally took me a long time to accept that my answer was the major obstacle to my success on the web. (And it’s still work in progress.)
-
Take the time now to honestly answer the question.
-
Tomorrow, we’ll look at why it’s probably what’s been holding you back.
-
Hey, I know how it feels – I was in the same situation for over a couple of years (Yes, years!). Be easy on yourself.
-
-
Talk tomorrow,

And when the answer is BOTH (yes, I’m a modern 21st Century woman, we want it ALL!) is, then have MORE THAN ONE website! :)
Excellent point, Yann.

Yann,
That was painful to read….and oh so true. I can truthfully say that so much more progress has been made in these short weeks than in the last two years.
THANKS

Yann, I hope I don’t feel that way. I hope kevin will help us avoid the feelings you describe. mark

Hi Yann,
I think you hit it right on the nose with do you want a website or do you intend to have a real business??
The principles to business that work offline have to be applied to your online venture too
I think thats what the major difference is the way you view your operation
Great point!!

Awesome point Yann!
This is a fantastic distinction. The online world has many of the same rules as the offline world.
Many people think that they just need to build a website and the profits will come.
Fostering good relationships is as important online as it is in the brick and mortar world.

Yann,
You make a great point. I had a lady make me a website 2 years ago for making money. I didn’t know one thing about marketing on the internet and niether did she.
I’ve not made enough money to speak about. But I have gained more knowledge over the last 3 weeks to make some progress now!

Hi Yann,
I have just started to make money online and see how hard it can be. I personally want a business and not a website. I think maybe i had some unrealistic expectations but i can work much better with reality!

Yann – you araise a really good point. In the grand scheme of things you really do need to be honest about your intentions and expectations. Otherwise, you will be sorely disappointed. If you aim at nothing you’ll hit the target everytime.
Good food for thought as usual.

I’ll admit, I’m catching up on posts and going backwards. So I already saw the next post. But you are absolutely right about the business comments and why we don’t want a business.

Believe me. I want a business. Enough of these start up and drop website things.
